By now, you’ve probably seen the Buga sphere, a silver object that crashed in Buga, Colombia, in March 2025. In a short time, it has gathered a growing snowball of questions. As the witnesses reported, the sphere fell to the ground, apparently struck by a power line. Then, it ended up in the hands of researchers in Mexico, as corroborated by José Arias Restrepo, the man who collected it from the ground in Colombia.

Did extraterrestrials or inter-dimensional beings make it? How did it fly with no apparent means of propulsion? Since it seems this object was certainly meant to be seen and collected, what is the intention and meaning of those elaborate and beautiful markings?

Is it merely a psyop constructed from a bowling ball, as the debunkers say? There have been numerous debunked stories, like the ‘alien mummies‘ displayed before Congress in 2023. Or could it be merely a fascinating, elaborate art project, as University of San Diego scientist Dr. Julia Mossbridge suggests?

“It looks to me like a really cool art project that reminds me, remember those obelisks that were showing up in the desert in the US? Could be the same artist,” she said in an interview.

There’s Something Bigger Than Us

Even if it is an art project, she says it could still hold relevant meaning. As with the mystery monoliths at the turn of 2020 or drones at the turn of 2024, the same intention could apply. Namely, to say, “We don’t understand what’s in our skies, what’s in our waters, and there’s something going on that’s essentially bigger than us,” Mossbridge said.

But if it’s an art project, how did it levitate in the air? Some say a drone simply carried on a string. However, at a June 20 press conference about the sphere, investigative journalist Nacho Rojo shared a video (See the conference video below starting at 1:56) of researchers attempting to recreate such a scenario in the field. As they determined, the Buga sphere’s apparently changeable weight, reportedly ranging from 4 to 22 pounds, would have challenged its ability to fly from a drone. Additionally, the model would swing on the string like a pendulum without the smooth flight pattern seen in the videos.

Full Transparency on At Least One UAP

Keep in mind, there is another seemingly identical object, known as the Yumbo sphere. As seen above, a man captured a sharper video on June 7; however, we’ll focus on the one from Buga as it is in the hands of researchers who say they intend to give full transparency on what they learn.

In contrast, Congressman Eric Burlison from Missouri claimed the same transparency doesn’t apply in the United States. Appearing at a press conference about the Buga sphere on June 20, 2025, he said the following:

“We’ve been blocked in Congress. We’ve been blocked from receiving the briefings that we need. I think it’s long overdue. Look, it’s not any government’s right to protect any knowledge about extraterrestrial or non-human intelligence, if it exists,” Burlison said.

Could the Buga Sphere Fly Like a Spider?

At the conference, engineer Rodolfo Garrido Cotham made some remarkable comparisons to hypothesize how the Buga sphere might levitate. As discovered through X-rays, the ‘nucleus’ contains three densities forming a definite elongated shape. At first glance, Garrido Cotham said it reminded him of Tesla’s Wardenclyffe Tower on its side. On the northern and southern equator of the sphere, holes line up with the top and bottom of this shape.

“When I saw this, I asked myself once again, ‘Where is the energy source for it to levitate…’ I was reminded of Nicola Tesla,” said Garrido Cotham.

Unlike Tesla’s tower, there is no underground water source beneath it to naturally generate electromagnetic charges. As designed by Tesla, natural energy would run up through the tower’s center electrical conductor tube. Without such a watery source of charge, the sphere might require another source, such as friction from rotation in air.

As this suggests, the sphere’s rotation is all that’s needed for levitation. But if so, how is it piloted?

Darwin and UFOs?

Interestingly, Garrido Cotham also drew a comparison to naturalist Charles Darwin. Certainly, it’s unexpected to associate Darwin with UFOs. But there is an interesting logical reason. In 1832, Darwin was delighted to find spiders on the HMS Beagle, 60 miles from shore. How did they get there? He reasoned they inexplicably flew in the air. As 2018 research verified, spiders can balloon hundreds of miles by opportunistically taking advantage of naturally forming electric fields.

“We can do a comparison of a spider flying through the air with the Buga sphere. Look at how it’s behaving; look how they’re levitating in the same fashion. So, we suspect that the Buga sphere is levitating thanks to static fields that are reacting with the atmosphere,” said Garrido Cotham.

The engineer went on to explain that this may also help explain why the sphere crashed.

“If the sphere has to rotate for it to be charged up, if it touches high voltage wires, it’s going to be discharged, causing disequilibrium on the inside and it descends.”

A Clean Energy Generator?

Now, he and fellow researchers hope to restart the Buga sphere by using an instrument to rotate it quickly, much like a wind turbine is started. But if it awakens and levitates again, what would happen?

To prevent it from flying off, they are considering concepts to contain it as it rotates inside an elaborate cage device. If you think about it, this could potentially be comparable to a clean energy generator. That is, if the sphere can continue rotating indefinitely with some force.

Another possibility is that the sphere is on “autopilot” and won’t start, regardless of what they do, Garrido Cotham explained. In that case, what would be the “starter?” Could it be the presence of the right pilot, perhaps someone with the ability to connect on a higher level of consciousness? Or do we need to find the human artist if there is no extraterrestrial or inter-dimensional creator?

“Don’t worry, we’ll figure out a way of turning it back on,” he concluded.

A Message of Expanding Individual Consciousness

As AI has decoded on the sphere’s surface, a message may read:

” The origin of birth through union and energy in the cycle of transformation, meeting point of unity, expansion, and consciousness—individual consciousness.”

“We interpret it as a message to humanity, encouraging a collective shift in consciousness to help Mother Earth—especially considering the current issues with pollution and environmental decline,” said Dr José Luis Velazquez and his research team.

Dr. Steven Greer’s Dramatic Assessment

According to Dr. Steven Greer, the anomalous sphere is “obviously real” and may use electrogravitic energy fields, a “type of anti-gravity effect from the electromagnetic forces.” However, his full assessment is pending further in-depth research and analysis by qualified scientists.

“Whether it is purely extraterrestrial origin or a mix of [an] ancient human/extraterrestrial development, there are four or five possibilities. And this is what we want to look at if we can get some of the materials and do carbon dating from the polymer, then we will know how old it is,” Greer said.

The Activation of DNA and Consciousness

Greer also made other claims, which are shocking if true. One claim was that a former top Green Beret had recently told him in a private debriefing in Los Angeles that he recognized symbols matching those on the Buga sphere. According to the unnamed man, he has seen symbols projected in the air a foot or so above an alleged extraterrestrial device. It was translucent, compared to an iPad. As the man understood it, the symbol’s meaning might be related to similar themes of genetic “activation of DNA and consciousness.”

Greer also mentioned that there have been other spheres, like the Buga sphere. Unfortunately, he claims thugs trying to maintain secrecy illegally confiscate them.

“There have been spheres found before in the United States. Special Forces thugs go in and get them. And people have been killed possessing them,” Greer claimed.

At least one mysterious sphere is known about, such as the case of the mysterious 8″ Betz Sphere, found in 1974 in Fort George Island, Florida. Video by the Why Files:

Greer also claimed that “fake policemen” tried to steal the Buga Sphere from the vault in Mexico City, where it’s being studied.

Considering all of this and much more, the snowball of curious elements here will only grow. Below, you can see much more about what researchers are saying as it relates to the metaphysical and consciousness.
