Where was the Garden of Eden? It’s a question much like the search for the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant. Was Eden a real place or merely metaphorical? Well, a peer-reviewed paper by Dr. Konstantin Borisov in the “Journal of Archeological Discovery” proposes Eden as being in Egypt at the Giza Plateau.
Although the tabloids are focusing mainly on Eden, the paper goes into a great deal more. For example, Borisov proposes the precise location of the Tree of Life and the location of the mythological Oceanus River. Furthermore, he has proposed a possible explanation for worldwide concepts of the Great World serpent and exactly where “Adam” mentioned in the Bible remains standing upright after thousands of years.
Yes, it’s a lot to unpack and fascinating, although not for everyone. In the analysis, the computer engineer who studied in Nevada and Mississippi finds commonality in cultures across the planet. For example, cultures from Canaan, Mesopotamia, West Africa, Greece, Crete, India, and Egypt all featured images of the divine symbol called the Tree of Life. And yet, he has also suggested a possible real location, originating inside the Great Pyramid of Giza in the King’s Chamber.
This study comes out following another stunning unrelated study that wasn’t yet peer-reviewed. In that case, researchers identified massive structures extending two kilometers beneath the pyramids.
Was the Garden of Eden A Real Place in Egypt?
You can read the full study to see how the author carefully traces the location of the Garden to Egypt, with its four rivers, the Nile (Gihon), Euphrates, Tigris, and Indus (Pishon.)
In part, by referencing an ancient map from 500 BC called the Hereford Mappa Mundi, he shifts the location away from Iraq and Mesopotamia. And thus, this counters the prevailing scholarly view. On the map, we see a mythological river called Oceanus, recorded by the Greek philosophers Hesiod and Homer. He also references ancient historian Josephus, who identified the Gihon River as the Nile.
“Traditionally, lore held that Eden was situated alongside the Oceanus River,” he writes.
Intriguingly, he proposes this river, which was said to be “a world encircling” “great green river,” was not on land at all. Instead of a river on land, he compares Oceanus to a green river in the sky similar in appearance to what we call the aurora borealis. In Hindu beliefs, he compares it to the Sarasvati river found in the Rigveda.
Moreover, he suggests this Sky River might be why cultures worldwide reference similar great serpents in the sky.
The Great Serpent Above Eden
For those in the United States, many of us have heard about the story of the serpent in the Garden of Eden. But here, we are looking at a “Sky Serpent” of charged particles in the air above the pyramids.
Tracing the path of this serpent, Borisov referenced a 2001 study by mathematician Jim Alison. In the study, he found a 40-mile-wide belt around the globe that connected ancient sites like the Giza Pyramids, Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, and the Sumerian City of Ur. At one time, was there a visible aurora stretching around the world, inspiring stories of a world serpent? Is that why so many ancient structures were constructed along the same path?
“Ancient cultures were driven by an unknown force to align themselves along this path,” the paper states, noting similar building techniques across the world.
The Flaming Sword Guarding Eden
Although briefly mentioned, Borisov proposes a possible explanation for the “flaming sword” said to divinely protect the return to Eden. Here, he suggests a connection to a changing climate, echoing ancient scholars Thomas Aquinas, Tertullian, and Origen. Once the pyramid fell out of use, could it have altered the once-fertile and lush environment?
In another view, if you’ve studied the Qabalah or Kabbalah, you know there is a similar flaming sword related to the chakras and spiritual Tree of Life. In the spiritual view, the way to return to a metaphorical Garden of Eden is by returning yourself along the metaphysical path of the sword.
The Symbolic Tree of Life
While noting the spiritual symbolism, Borisov finds a precise location for the Tree of Life inside the King’s Chamber.
The Tree of Life is also called:
- The Sky Tree
- Ladder Leading to Heaven
- World Pillar
- Life-Giving Tree
- Tree of Divine Order
In other cases, people described it as having branches embracing the world and “adorned in a color reminiscent of lapis lazuli.” In Egypt, the tree was related to water and the goddesses, and in the Dogon Tribe, it related to the “Nommo,” meaning Water.
Yet, across so many ancient cultures, we see it depicted similarly. Among the earliest examples are those from Egypt. While there was an Egyptian Ished Tree associated with the goddesses, there was also a symbolic tree, the Djed pillar, representing the resurrection of Osiris.
In esoteric meaning, it’s about a spiritual resurrection. As such, it’s related to energy centers along the spine (like chakras), much like in Eastern beliefs and Buddhism.
A Tree of Life Made of Photons of Light
As noted, Borisov’s paper points to another Tree of Life originating in the King’s Chamber which is made of light. In a simulation, these photons appear in wavelengths of purple and green. As you can see below, its branches number five with the four higher ones closer together, exactly like an Egyptian Djed pillar.
Was there also once a giant tree-like image of light extending from the Pyramid of Giza into the sky above it, as this study suggests? If so, imagine the branches reaching into the sky while the aurora borealis extends for miles around. What a light show that would be! And did it also serve some practical or spiritual purpose we have yet to fully comprehend?
“The tree above the pyramid is expected to extend for miles above the structure, rendering the tree visible from a significant distance away,” he writes.
Image on the left caption: “Simulations have been conducted for the Great Pyramid of Giza. Figure 8 shows the simulation results for the distribution of charge particles above the pyramid shortly after the blast. It cannot be overlooked, the charge particles in this simulation are arranged in a way that creates several parallel branches extending outward from the center line, creating a tree-like representation.“
